Comment on Judicial Fitness of Superior Court Judges Anderson, Mitchell-Rankin

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure (CJDT) is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and general public on the qualifications of two judges seeking to continue their service on D.C. Superior Court.

 The commission is reviewing the qualifications and fitness of Judge Jennifer Anderson, who is requesting recommendation for initial appointment as a senior judge, and Judge Zinora Mitchell-Rankin, who is seeking reappointment to an additional term as a senior judge upon expiration of her current term on March 23, 2024.

The deadline for comments is February 16. Submit comments by mail to the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, 515 Fifth Street, N.W., Room 246, Washington, D.C. 20001; by email at [email protected]; or through an online survey.

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Anita Josey-Herring. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
